Research Policy

   Research and developmental activities creates and disseminates new knowledge in range of fields, promotes innovation and these will motivate better learning and teaching among faculties and students. Research is the foundation of knowledge that brings new ideas, builds state of the art facilities, promotes research publications, develops collaborations and becomes part of active community that shares the mission objectives. Taking these into considerations, the following Research Policy is implemented at Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre Amravati.

1. Purpose

   The purpose of the Research Policy is to inculcate research culture among the teaching staff and students of our Institutions. The policy shall serve as a guideline for all research-related activities, comply with all necessary statutory and other requirements, and adhere.

2. Scope

   The Research Policy applies to all faculty and students involved in research activities and also to such of those researchers use the facilities for research at Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Medical College, Amravati.

3. Objectives

To create a research culture amongst students and faculty members

To Establish Multidisciplinary, multicentric Research projects.

To ensure publications in quality indexed journals with impact factor.

To obtain Patents & IPR.

   

4. Custodian of Policy

   The implementation and updating of Research Policy shall be enforced by Research director under the guidance of Head of the institute, Dr.Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre Amravati. The institute is having a Research Director to function under Head of the institute, to assist and advise in matters related to research. All the research material published will be proprietered by the Institute.

5. Policy and Guidelines

5.1 Undertaking Research

   Faculty members Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Medical College, Amravati. are expected to undertake research, leading to quality publications, presentations in National/International conferences of repute, generation of Intellectual property with Medically, socially useful outcome and other similar research activity.

5.2 Obligations of faculty and researchers (including post graduate researchers)

   Research output will be considered one of the criteria for faculty recruitment and promotion along with other academic responsibilities.

5.3 Research Management

   Overall management of research activities may be coordinated by Head of the institute Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Memorial Medical College, Amravati. Scientific Review Committee, Institutional Ethical Committee and Board of Research study are be responsible for overall functioning of research activities within the Institute. Our Institute is awarded SIRO (Scientific & Industrial Research Organization) Registration by DSIR ( Department of Scientific& Industrial Research), Government of India, which enables our Institute to purchase custom duty free R& D equipment and can also apply for research grants of any amount to the funding agencies.
