ACADEMIC TERM & VACATION SCHEDULE FOR THE YEAR 2022-23

During the academic year 2022-23, students of all Health Science Colleges/Institutes affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik shall have following academic terms and vacations.

Important Notes :-

  1. Academic Year of Second Year and onwards courses of all UG faculties will start from 1st August 2018. The Dean / Principal of the college shall ensure that teaching as well as practical days / hours shall be covered in the stipulated period.

  2. Students admitted and joined the college on or before 31st October 2018 for any course shall appear for their First Year University Examinations in May /June 2019 (Summer Examination), However, f9r all late admitted students (prior to 31st October 2018), the college shall ensure that all teaching days / hours prescribed by the University shall be fulfilled either by conducting extra classes or by conducting classes on holidays or in vacation period as per convenience of the college.

  3. PG (MD / MS) Medical Students will be eligible to appear for May / June 2021 University examinations.

  4. PG (Diploma) Medical Students will be eligible to appear for May / June 2020 University examinations.

  5. PG Dental Students will be eligible to appear for June / July 2021 University examinations.

  6. PG Ayurved / Unani Students will be eligible to appear for First Year Examination in November / December 2019 and Final Examinations in November / December 2021.

  7. PG Homoeopathy Students will be eligible to appear for Part-I Examinations in June / July 2020 and Final Examinations in November / December 2021 University examinations.

  8. MASLP, MPO and MSc. (Nursing) Students will be eligible to appear for First Year Examinations in June / July 2019 and Final Examinations in June / July 2020 University examinations.

  9. MPTh. (02 Years duration) Students will be eligible to appear for First Year Examinations in November / December 2019 and Final Year Examinations in November / December 2020.

  10. MOTh Students will be eligible to appear for Final year Examinations in June/July 2021.

  11. The University examination of all the students admitted and joined after 31st October 2018 shall be conducted in the month of November / December 2019 (Winter Examination).

  12. Total working available days including examination period are 270 days.

  13. The Academic term for M.B.A. (HCA), M.P.R.N., PG D.M.L.T., BPMT, Ph.D. (In various Faculties) and Modern Pharmacology (for Homoeopathic graduates) Courses conducted by the University shall start from 1st August 2018 and Fellowship and Certificate Courses shall start from pt September 2018. The Academic, Administrative and Examination related matters of all these courses shall be governed and regulated as per University directives issued for the purpose from time to time.

  14. As per Ordinance No. 01/2014, attendance should not be less than 75% of the lectures delivered in each subject of the course of instruction and 80% in practical work for the examination during the total academic period. Attendance in both cases shall be calculated till such date before the commencement of the written examination or upto the end of the academic term, whichever is later.

  15. During the course of study, actual attendance of the students in theory and practical shall be considered as valid attendance. Participation in any gathering or cultural activities or Sick leave or any other leave will not be taken into consideration for calculation of Attendance. Hall ticket shall be issued only after fulfilling the criteria of the attendance. It shall be the' duty of Dean / Principal to ensure the correctness of the attendance.

  16. MUHS will hold two examinations in Academic year 2018-2019 i.e. in November / December and May / June, which will be published on website by the University. The period of Theory and PracticalExaminations will be part of Academic Term.

  17. There shall be no preparatory leave admissible to any student of any course.

  18. The Dean / Principal of the college is empowered to adjust / make suitable changes in Students / Teachers Winter Vacation of First year students to ensure fulfillment of minimum number of working days.

  19. The Dean / Principal of the College shall notify tentative schedule of conduct of Internal Assessment Examinations at college level atleast 03 months in advance.

  20. Above academic term and vacation shall be applicable uniformly to all affiliated Colleges/Institutions of the University. The Dean/Principal of the college is permitted to alter the dates of the vacations in order to suit any extra ordinary local conditions after taking due approval from the University. Last date of submission of such application for obtaining approval from the University is 31st October 2018. Nevertheless, minimum number of total working days of the students shall be fulfilled as per requirement of the respective Central Councils Norms and the University for the Academic Year.

Important Notes :-

  4. Total working days available for teachers are 240 days. Above academic term and vacation shall be applicable uniformly to all Colleges/Institutions affiliated to this University. However, the Dean/Principal of the college is permitted to alter the dates of the vacations in order to suit any extra ordinary local conditions after taking due approval from the University. However, it will not be applicable for examination related duties. Last date of submission of such application for obtaining approval from the University is 31& October 2018. Nevertheless, in case of any variation, it shall be ensured that a minimum of 240 working days should be held during the Academic Year.

  5. MUHS will hold two examinations in Academic year 2018-2019 i.e. inNovember I December andMay I June, which will be published on website by the University. The period of Theory and Practical Examinations will be part of Academic Term.

  6. The Dean I Principal of the college is empowered to adjust I make suitable changes in Students I Teachers Winter Vacation of First year students to ensure fulfillment of minimum number of working days.

  7. The Dean I Principal of the College shall notify tentative schedule of conduct of Internal Assessment Examinations at college level atleast 03 months in advance.

  8. Each teaching staff shall avail only the half vacation i.e. 50% of the total vacation period at the discretion of the Dean I Principal. They shall sanction the vacation in such a way that 50% teaching staff of the department shall be present in the department during the vacation period.

  9. The Dean/Principal shall ensure that sufficient teaching staff shall be present during University examination period for smooth conduct of examinations.

  10. The Dean/Principal shall ensure that minimum number of total working days of the students shall be fulfilled as per requirement of the respective Central Council NOIms.

  11. At the end of the academic year 2018-2019, the Dean/Principal of the CollegelInstitute shall maintain their report of actual working days held in the academic year at college level, which shall be furnish to the University as and when called-for.
